A day in the life of a Co-op.

It’s one of those Monday mornings that everybody dreads. Something jolts you from a deep sleep at 2 a.m and it takes you an hour to go back to sleep, even though you have to be up by 5 a.m. The alarm goes off as it should, always at the time when you don’t wanna hear it. You turn it off, thinking you hit snooze. Then you slowly drift back into sleep and don’t wake up until 6.20, twenty minutes after you were supposed to be at work.
You rush around getting ready, panicking and trying not to lose your mind. As if that is not enough, you realize it’s one of those Cincinnati days when the weather changes drastically. It is pouring, and has been all night. Getting to work is definitely going to be a nightmare, and right again! Three accidents, major flooding and two missed exits later, you arrive at work, soaking and LATE!
Then the strangest thing happens, you walk in and as you say good morning to everyone, they all smile back, you talk about the weather and the weekend and everything is alright with the world. Fingers crossed, the day will get better! Before you know it, it is 4 p.m and time to go home. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and there is not a drop of water on the ground. All evidence of the hellish morning has been erased, as if it never happened. How about that for things turning around?!

My name is Olive and this is a recount of my day today.
I know it seems strange for a first blog but I wanted to share this story with you just because we’ve all had “one of those days”. Nothing ever comes easy but if you stick around long enough, things always change for the better.

I am a new blogger and hopefully we will get to know each other better over the next few months. I'm just gonna tell you guys a little bit about myself. I am an aerospace engineering major, just finished my first year. I am currently fulfilling a co-op assignment with GE Aviation at their Evendale plant in Cincinnati, Ohio. Therefore, my blogs will be mostly about my co-op experience.
I learned about the co-op program in my GT1000 class and I thought it would be a perfect fit for me. I could get some work experience under my belt, make professional contacts in my field and at the same time confirm my major, not to mention earn a few bucks :) So far, I have gotten very close to accomplishing these goals and then some.
I’ll be sharing more about my experiences as a co-op and as GT student over the next few months. I will try and include pictures and videos!
Till next time!
