One of my favorite memories from my freshman year was when I received my Phi Mu Big Sister, Lauren. My second year, I took a little sister, Kiersten, and then my third year, I took another little sister, Lauren. Last year, Kiersten got a little sister, and this year, Lauren got a little sister. My Phi Mu family is huge now that I am a Big Big Sister to two girls.

Why do we have Big/Lil Sisters?
A Big Sister serves as a mentor and confidant for a Lil Sister in Phi Mu. She answers any questions that the Lil Sister has, helps her through initiation, and serves as a good role model within the sorority. My Big Sister encouraged me to run for the Executive Board and get involved in Dance Marathon. She also studied with me, helped me get to know people in Phi Mu and on campus, and just helped me out in my life in general.
What do Phi Mu families do?
My Phi Mu family has family get-togethers a lot where we just go out to dinner or hang out. We always eat dinner together before big social events like semi-formal and formal. A Phi Mu family adds an extra circle of friends within a sorority.
How do you choose a Big Sister?
New members in Phi Mu have about 6 weeks to get to know a lot of sisters and then decide who they want to be their Big Sister. After that, there is a week where the new members receive presents and clues about who their Big Sister is. Finally, Big Sis Revelation takes place and the Big Sis "reveals" herself to her Lil Sis.
Since, I am a fourth-year. This is my fourth time doing Big/Lil! Here are pictures!!
